OpenWBEM 3.2.2 Released

OpenWBEM 3.2.2 Security & Bug-fix release.
OpenWBEM 3.2.2 is now available for download. This release
adds no new features. It is source and binary compatible with
3.2.0. It fixes a privilege escalation issue caused by faulty
random number generator code present only in the 3.2.0
release. This flaw only affects installations which are
configured to use local or HTTP Digest authentication.
Other minor bugs have also been fixed.... read more

OpenWBEM 3.0.2 released

The OpenWBEM development team is pleased to announce that OpenWBEM 3.0.2 is now available. CVS is tagged (RELEASE_3_0_2), and the bits have been uploaded to sourceforge. Source is available and binary RPMS will soon be built for RedHat Linux (x86) and SuSE Linux 9.1 (x86, x86-64).

OpenWBEM 2.0.4 Released

This release is a bug-fix release for the 2.0 branch. I also got the RPM to build correctly.

OpenWBEM 2.0.2 Released

This release fixes a few bugs and has some performance enhancements as well.

- Fixed compile problem on systems w/out OpenSSL
- Enhancements to the acceptance test suite
- Refactored OW_Reference to use more efficient assembly code instead of mutexes for reference counting.
- Created OW_COWReference so there is no need for code to explicitly manage COW semantics.
- Refactored OW_Reference and OW_COWReference to have a non-template base class to reduce code bloat.
- Changed owmofc to not create XML dump files in /tmp
- Fixed enumInstances in OW_RPM provider.
- Worked on making the mof compiler re-entrant.
- Fixed a bug in the NPI interface. Thanks to Viktor Mihajlovski.
- Added a test for associator providers.
- Fixed a bug where an associator provider wasn't being called in certain situations.
- Some cleanup and optimizations with operator= on some classes.

OpenWBEM 1.3.2 Released

Caldera International and the OpenWBEM project are pleased announce the release of OpenWBEM
1.3.2.

There are many bug fixes and optimizations on this release.

The OpenWBEM CIMOM now supports Binary CIM operations over Unix domain sockets for clients
running on the local machine.

As usual, the test suite has been enhanced to exercise the new functionality.

Now is the time to try OpenWBEM, if you haven't already. If you have tried it before, you'll

OpenWBEM 1.2.0 Released

Caldera International and the OpenWBEM project are pleased
to announce the release of OpenWBEM 1.2.0.

Access Control Lists have been added to the OpenWBEM CIMOM.

All CIM Products and major CIM features are now complete with
release 1.2.0 of OpenWBEM.

Numerous bug fixes and improvements have been made for this release.

Now is the time to try OpenWBEM, if you haven't already.
If you have tried it before, you'll want to upgrade to version
1.2.0 as many improvements have been made. If you have

OpenWBEM 1.1.2 Released

The OpenWBEM project and Caldera International are pleased to announce
the release of OpenWBEM 1.1.2.

OpenWBEM has now been ported to 3 additional platforms:

Sun Solaris 2.8
Caldera Unixware 7 and OpenUnix 8.0
Caldera OpenServer (OSR5)

OpenWBEM can now be configured to build using the GNU Pth
cooperative thread library.

The owexecwql utility has been added to execute WQL statements

OpenWBEM 1.1.0 Released

The OpenWBEM project and Caldera International are pleased to announce the release of OpenWBEM 1.1.
OpenWBEM 1.1 has several new features, including indication support and a level 2 wql processor. This release fixes _many_ bugs related to threading, memory allocation, and general seg-faults. Problems have also been addressed
when building on other linux distributions.
