I have done a lot of formatting and customization to my OpenSong song library, some more major than others. Sometimes during service, a song is added or changed last minute, and while I can use the Add Song (q) button in the Presentation Helper, I'm always reluctant to do so because when I do that all my customization is lost and my song is ugly. I'm unsure why this happens, since OpenSong has to read the file before displaying it, and when I close the presentation and add it in Set Mode, all my customization is loaded.

This limitation of the On-The-Fly song addition has existed for a while.
I just tested it on 1.6.2, and it happened.

New feature: preserve any customization when adding songs on the fly. Basically, add songs like they are added though Set Mode.

This feature request is somewhat older by now. I can't reproduce it with v2.2.7 on Windows (only subtitle is lost, but this is fixed for the upcomming version).
If you still experience this problem, please create a new request (or rather a bug report) and add more details as to what kind of customization does get ignored. Also we needed to know, if a style change slide is in effect, and if the set had been exported and the exported copy is beeing used.
