When I create a new "external" element and select videolan, I cannot choose any file, they are all "disabled" so to say...(see screenshot). I just can't select them. I tried to put the complete file name "\Lion\Users\user\Movies\mymovie.mp4", but then in the presentation helper, it lags and even crashes sometimes (only the helper crashes, not the whole program).
In the presentation helper, I also can't access the film when navigating with the arrow keys, it just skips it (and then I have a small delay, and sometimes the presentation window crashes...) I once got this error (see screenshot, sorry that I couldn't take it to my clipboard...)

Here the error log:
09.03.12 17:24:28.065 OpenSongOSX: kCGErrorInvalidConnection: CGSGetWindowTags: Invalid connection

My config:
Mac OS X Lion (10.7.3)
MacBook Core 2 Duo Late 2008, 2x2.2GHz, 4GB RAM
OpenSong v2.0 beta (x86), 2011r3

All controls disabled probably means that VideoLan is not installed (it is not packaged with OpenSong). The crash however should never happen, this has been solved in the upcoming full release.

After you install VideoLan, you need to specify the path in OpenSong in the general settings window. Once you do that, does that solve the disabled controls and the crash?

I have installed VideoLan, trust me :-D I have the 2.0.0 version!
Ok, I'll try with the newest version... But even though VideoLan is installed, I still can't access the movie files (I also put the link in the OS preferences ("HD:Applications:VLC.app:") Don't have anyone else this problem on Mac OS X ?

Hello Bilut. Did you ever solve your MAC video selection problem. I've just tried but can't pick up the video. I'm using OS10.6 and have recently downloaded Videolan so should have an up to date version. Video plays within videolan OK.

I looked at the code, and I cannot compile it with the latest RB version: here is the error I have, I think it could be related!

    MainWindow.lst_set_items.Change,
    line 236,
There are several items with this name and it is not clear which one the call refers to, lst_external_videolan_preset.AddRow App.VideolanPresetList.Key(i)

The RB version that is used for creating releases is 2010r5; reason for not using the latest version is issues with Cocoa on MacOS. this is something that is being worked on.

The crash most probably is because the translation is not complete on this section: <videolan_preset_list>, see the English version for reference.
A translation where this is solved can be found in SVN.

This is just solved in the code (revision 876) and will be in the next release.
