Hi,
I am new to Project Management and OpenProj. I am trying to schedule a task which is estimated to take approximately 6 hours to complete, but the resource has 3 working days over which to complete it. What I am expecting to see is the following:
Create the task
Double click to open the Task Info screen
Click the ADVANCED tab
For the Type: select FIXED DURATION
Go back to GENERAL tab
Insert for duration: 3
Insert for work: 6
CLOSE
That should be the solution.

Hi,
I am new to Project Management and OpenProj. I am trying to schedule a task which is estimated to take approximately 6 hours to complete, but the resource has 3 working days over which to complete it. What I am expecting to see is the following:
Task
Start: 4/5/11
Finish: 4/7/11
Duration: 3 days
Work: 6 hours
But what I receive instead is:
Task
Start: 4/5/11
Finish: 4/5/11
Duration: 0.75 days
Work: 6 hours
Could someone explain what I might be doing incorrectly? Or does the program simply not function the way I am expecting it to?
Thank you for any and all assistance.
Lisa
