Due to a lack of free time to give it enough attention, I'm abandoning OpenAspect. A great big thanks to all who have contributed and participated over the last three years. Thanks all! Nige. |

Hi, I have setup OpenAspect on linux but I am stuck at the first login screen. I use admin/admin to login but nothing happens, no error just the page refreshes. I tested that my php can infact speak to Firebird since I installed IbWebAdmin as well and I can access the OpenAspect database and see the admin user there. Any advice ? Regards Andrew |

Hi everybody, I am a newbie. I am interested in installing OpenAspect on a Mac running Panther. I have managed to get Apache/PHP and Firebird installed. I have downloaded the Open Aspect PHP/Firebird files. OpenAspect site says that I need... " A webserver capable of using the PHP language as a module, NOT as a CGI PHP4 or higher installed, including the 'Interbase' extension to enable use with Firebird databases. This includes enabling the interbase extension in your php.ini file: extension=interbase.so (For BSD/Linux) extension=php_interbase.dll (For Win32)" How do I install the interbase extension on a mac? (should be similar to freebsd) Where do I get the "interbase.so" file? I have not been able to find it on my hard drive. I have not been able to find anything on the net which tells me how to install it or where to get it. Any instructions on how to install the extension on a mac OR freebsd would be appreciated. Thanks Graeme |

It's almost as if the dollar signs have been removed from the front of the variables in those lines! Can you attach the 'support.inc.php' file that you have? (Take out your password if you've changed it...) What platform/web server/PHP version are you running? Nige. |

Window's doesn't stink - it's great for most users, and it's more reliable than ever. But I still think a Unix/Linux box makes a better, cheaper server... I'll make the installation more detailed for windows users. The important points are: 1. Get Firebird installed (Classic or SuperServer) 2. Get Apache and PHP working together, and verify with a short file that runs some php: <?php echo "PHP is running"; ?> (Put this file inside your webserver root, and access it via a browser) 3. Get PHP talking to Firebird, by editting the php.ini file to include the 'interbase' or 'firebird' extension. Then, you can install OpenAspect, and it'll all just click! The more specific you can be with your errors, the more accurate I/we can be in helping you! Nige. |

These lists will provide a valuable resource to people developing, testing, and using OpenAspect. If have a feature-request, or know of a way the OpenAspect can improve, or you're submitting patches to the codebase, please use the 'devel' list. If you're having trouble installing, configuring, or runnning OA, plase fire your questions at the 'support' list. If it doesn't really fit into any of these, throw it at the 'general' list - you opinions are valuable, even if it's a passing comment. Thanks for visiting! Nige. |
