We propose the following def for articulation (VAO:0000101)

Anatomical cluster that consists of two or more adjacent bones or cartilages, which may be interconnected by various types of tissue (used in XAO, ZFA, TAO)

For comparison, FMA's definition for "joint"
Anatomical junction which consists of parts of two or more adjacent bones or cartilages which are interconnected by organs and/or organ parts that consist of various types of connective tissue

Note that FMA has a different parent for articulation. Anatomical cluster/anatomical junction probably needs to be distinguished in CARO, so I propose keeping anatomical cluster as the parent in VAO for now.

Also, can we make "joint" the preferred label and "articulation" the synonym because joint is more commonly used.

Thanks,
