Hi all, Both of these mailing lists have been quiet since April 2013, so I think it's safe to say we have all been busy with other things. Despite my own desire to contribute, I just have not had the time with my professional work taking up a lot of my development time. I decided to drop by the forum after many months, since I was working on a plugin for myself. I found a thread asking about the future of Nucleus, and correctly pointing out that there does not appear to be any releases / development happening lately. Thread: http://forum.nucleuscms.org/viewtopic.php?t=21234 I chimed in with my own thoughts (on page 2) and mentioned that I would send a message to the mailing list(s) to see how likely any of us are to continue developing Nucleus. Along those lines, Leo has taken it upon himself to fork Nucleus 3.65 and make fixes so that it can work on PHP 5.4. He's named this "LMNucleus" and there is a thread on it here: http://forum.nucleuscms.org/viewtopic.php?t=21280 So I guess the main question is: what should the next step be? Is Wouter still involved with Nucleus at all, beyond owning the domain/paying for hosting? If so, what are his thoughts? Should the repositories be opened up to more developers? (If so, who will be review and package into releases?) Should Nucleus be sunset and let others fork development, as has already happened with LMNucleus? I like the idea of continuing to contribute to Nucleus, but with my other commitments I just cannot take on a leadership role in that. Thoughts welcome. I'm cross-posting this message to the first thread linked above, too. gRegor http://gregorlove.com "our hearts are burning bright, as we're lifted out of nowhere. our songs all stay behind to sing the story of our lives" - the echoing green |

Dear all, nuc...@li... After releasing 3.65, we decide to manage new mailing list for global users and developers. This is not only for developers, but also users. You can post your questions to this mailing list and get help from the other users. You can see an archive of this mailing list. https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/nucleuscms-global Of cource, we are welcome to see any patches for current breeding edge, Nucleus CMS 4.0. This remote repository is managed by git and you can retrieve sources via git and http download. https://sourceforge.net/p/nucleuscms/code/ The 4.0 is heavily developped version and need for your help. It already has much improvements bewlow: - fully PHP5 support - correct handling characters which encoded into multi byte - "locale" subsystem with many translation files (30 area and country supported) - step-by-step installer - fully PHP Database Object (PDO) support - based on SQL89 (trial for non-MySQL like SQLite is not yet) - framework for internationalization of skins/templates and plugins - Custamizeable admin area with skins/templates system - E-mail notification with non-ISO-8859-1 characters - support for image resampling If you find bugs or you hope new feature, you can share your idea via this mailing list. Of cource, just posting to this mailing list is OK but you should realize that for investigating bugs some resources such as log or codes are necessary. Regards Takashi Sakamoto o-t...@sa... |
