Need some help here! I can preform the setup of a table ok, and I can also do a search that re= turns data ok. Thanks, I added permission to write to the Apache user and it worked!! I can now create basic mySite. But I have 2 problems when creating mySites with editable column or column where the value comes from another table or a list of values. 1) If I want a column to be not editable, all the new records added with mySite contain nothing for that column! Is that normal?? I would like to add new records with that column filled but that can't be edited later with the 'edit' button. 2) If I want a column where the values come from a pull-down menu, I get a Submission Error : Invalid default value for 'id_num'. Maybe mySiteMaker try to create the table with a default value for an auto-increment field... I think the latest version of MySQL doesn't permit that. 3) If I want a column where the values come from another table, the mySite generated is not working at all... Thanks a lot! MySiteMaker in CVS is now fastcgi capable. It still needs some testing and documentation. So far it seems to be working well. I would still like to do a mod_perl version too, but for now this will work. |

When you install msm you can not tell where you want the conf files to be stored. I had some issues with the language stuff that may need to be cleaned up. I have tested on a Redhat Enterprise AS 3.0 with default apache 2. It may need more testing. Check it out of CVS and have fun! I think I may finish up the mod_perl part soon too. A version of msm on a site I host needs a big speed increase. And that is the only way I can think of. I also need to work on the documentation. I want to do a demo like ruby on rails. :) |

mySiteMaker 4.5 has been released. * Cleaning up and XHTML validating the cgi/templates/ directory * Added strings to language files. Need translations. * Added mysitemaker version to generic footer. * Fixed code for create_menus.cgi to use new-style sitemaker object creation. * JOINING_TABLES-HOWTO docs updated. * Changed db user and pass form input box names to reduce chances of collision with user's column names. * Fixed hide_query bug and hidden columns bug. http://www.itlab.musc.edu/mySiteMaker/ -- Satya. http://www.thesatya.com/ Black holes were created when God divided by zero! |

There are several new strings in the sitemaker translation files. I need someone to translate them into German, Spanish, Italian, French, Serbian, and Russian. Also any other languages if you want. Any volunteers? Any suggestions for more translations? I can do German Italian Spanish and French, but only using google as I don't know those languages myself. mySiteMaker 4.4 has been released today. Changes: * Fixed buggy interaction of default and *_ALLOW authentication * The quest for validated and modern-HTML docs/ continues. Mostly valid. * Now uses Sys::Syslog to log auth messages. More logging may be desirable, please file feature requests http://www.sf.net/projects/mysitemaker -- Satya. http://www.thesatya.com/ NO CARRIER |

Basic configuration file is written when you make a new "mySite". You can edit that file with any text editor (vi, emacs, etc.) for added functionality. -- Satya. http://www.thesatya.com/ !TRC eht edisni deppart ma I !pleH |

Hi, from Taiwan, I tried to install mySiteMaker (ver 4.2) using both my Mac OS terminal command line and FTP. I couldn't do so from FTP, but using the Mac command line gave me the follwing mistakes and I was unable to do much; here the list of my terminal and error log. sektor:~/filmex.ws> cd mySiteMaker-4.2 sektor:~/filmex.ws/mySiteMaker-4.2> dir CHANGELOG INSTALL MANIFEST README conf html tools CREDITS LANGUAGES META.yml TODO docs install tutorial DEVELOPERS LICENSE Makefile.PL cgi help lib sektor:~/filmex.ws/mySiteMaker-4.2> perl Makefile.PL Checking if your kit is complete...
