FYI: I was not able to view dvi files from Release 20060102 (java 1.4). I tried changing names, directories, classpath, etc. I downloaded the previous version, Release 8.3, and the dvi view just worked. Since I only need the dvi functionality, I'm ok with the previous version.

I think you can work around this bug by putting DVI.jar in your CLASSPATH.
