Open "Audio MIDI Setup" in the utilities folder and see what your "Audio Output Format" is. Chances are it's floating at 48000Hz and should be 41400Hz.

There seems to be an incompatibility between MPlayer OS X and M-Audio's Revolution 5.1 sound card. MPlayer plays the sound way too fast.
Don't know which side's fault it is. Just wanted to mention it.

I've got a MOTU Traveler and I'm having the same problem. Except when I change the audio setup, mplayer always switches it back to 192000 sample rate.
