    Hi,
Following the instruction in the article "Self-Hosting movies with Movix" appeared on Linux Journal I managed to make my own distro.
It just includes the kernel drivers I need in order to let my G550 out on TV and mplayer specially compiled.
Everythings work fine and I was very happy about my work until I tryed to reproduce a dvd, the result is disgusting! The video is incredibly slow and "springing" (I mean that regularly the images stop for a while and than they restart and so on, you'll excuse my english I hope).
On the other hand booting with either my usual configuration or movix provided by Roberto the dvd looks as it should.
Can anyone help me? Does anyone of you understand what I'm missing?
    Thanks a lot,
    Flavio

      Hi Flavio,

sounds like a DMA problem to me. Is the DMA active?
      Check it with: hdparm -d /dev/<your drive>

      Regards
      Zoidbergo

PS: In which Linux journal can I find the article you have used?

      Hi Zoidbergo,
Thanks for your help. I didn't have hdparm installed in neither my main debian distribution nor my selfmade box. Now I'll try it and let you know soon.

Here is the link of the article appeared on Linux Journal:
