A newbie question:
I am working with a Latex document. Although I can use
Bibtex-Latex to generate the document, I am unable to
use Texify to achieve the same result. A Texify run
gives me the following error:
TEXIFY: cannot create temp folder
Tool completed with exit code 1
This message resulted from an earlier attempt to
Texify a document containing minor errors. Though the
errors have been resolved, neither this document nor
any others will run on Texify - the same error occurs.

Sounds like your TMP environment variable is set incorrectly or you don't
have permissions in that directory (WinNT/2k/XP). Texify reads TMP and
creates a temporary folder %TMP%\mcd????.tmp where it stores aux/tof/tol
type files. To check, open a command prompt and type
> ECHO %TEMP% %TMP%
(To open a command prompt go to Start/Run and type CMD or COMMAND)
Do you like what you see? Do those directories exist? Try changing TMP
(temporarily) to something that you know will work:
> SET TMP=c:\
and run texify (in this command prompt window). If that fixed the
problem you need to change (permanently) TEMP/TMP or the permissions of
the directory where they point. If you don't know how to do this, email
AND TELL ME WHICH WINDOWS OS YOU'RE USING and I'll go through it.
