It would be helpful if MCrypt included implementations
for the SHA-2 hash functions, since many languages
(notably PHP) do not support them natively. Since SHA-1
is not advisable for new, high-security cryptographic
applications, it would make programming much easier if
one did not have to deal with SHA-2 headers in every
script,
