Win32/Win98 install fix

I did the install and the octave batch file came up with the wrong path.
The correct file with the bad line commented out is:
@echo off
:: ..generated by GNU Octave setup.bat
if not exist \tmp\nul mkdir \tmp
rem "C:\Program\bin\bash" --login start
"C:\Program Files\GNU\Octave\bin\bash" --login start
rd \tmp
Octave seems to work now. I can do "help xxx" and get help. I just checked the info reader
and the other person posting is right.
I might post a Octave compatable reaction-diffusion solver for one
dimension on my website.

Thank you for the script! It leads me further, but unfortunately it is not enough to make octave run on my
Win2000:
C:\PROGRA~1\GNU\Octave>octave
start: start: No such file or directory
C:\PROGRA~1\GNU\Octave>cd bin
C:\PROGRA~1\GNU\Octave\bin>..\octave
start: rxvt: command not found
i.e. when octave.bat is run called from the bin directory, the "start" script is found, but rxvt is somehow not
launched.
I warmly welcome any ideas (emails) to make octave run! It is good to hear, that somebody has
succeedded installing it on a windows machine!

I tried to install on my home system: Windows ME (part time) and it failed. I
got sick and tired of fiddling around;
downloaded the src file and rebuilt the installer: It seems to work (with some
personal debugging comments that I might take out). Your welcom to try it at:

No Gaurentees (as a matter of fact you should always beware of
"Greeks bearing Gifts" but I'm Irish.
This does not include info; which I will install and upload shortly (perhaps), but
if you don't try this and make suggestions today I will not remember (or deny doing)
any of this tomorrow.
In old age memory is the second thing to go. I can't recall the first.

I have made a few changes to get rid of some memory leakage problems;
"Winoldapp" zombies. The new exe and zip versions are available at my
ftp site:

I am sure I trashed the NT installation. I am also sure it is easy to fix if
somebody knows NT and is willing to work with me a little. Basically I wiped
the OS sensitivity in order to accomidate Win ME and apparently NT wants
_path (or some such).
This is a limited time offer and warrenties only last until my memory gives out
which I can assure you is soon.
