This can cause the install to die, though it only seems to happen on machine with bad repeatability (inlike the Level 1, which died all the time). Probably should change to be like the rest of the timers . . .
This problem fixed in the developer series for GER. GEMV may still need to fixed, but that will have to wait on GEMV rewrite.
