How do you convert between the info in the temperature_0-6 files and degrees C? I'm not in Linux now so I can't check this but I do notice that my fans occasionally spin up for no reason (the processors are barely being used) but I don't know the exact fan speed in degrees C so I can't compare it with OS X. I noticed using smcFanControl in OS X that the fans only turn on if you have sustained CPU usage and CPU temps going over 70 or 80 C. I wonder if a large part of the poor battery life in Linux is due to bad control of the fans.
