lockHeed Site Engine / News: Recent posts

Since the release of version 0.5, lockHeed has entered BETA stages. This means all of the basic code has been implemented and been deemed bug free. All further development will be in feature additions, bug fixes and cosmetic upgrades.

Also, the homepage has been updated if you'd like to see a demo of the engine.

Yes, it's a minor release, but some great new features have been added that simplify the usage of the script immensly.

Here's a list of changes:
- Checkbox added to prevent article from being displayed on the main page
- Any topic can be a header, no matter what the title.
- All misc box content is now held in tables. You may create as many as you want.
- Ability to delete and edit misc boxes
- Ability to update profile

I cleaned up the code drastically and made some major changes to the administration system, so I figured I'd release it before digressing down a different path. Not a huge update, but packed with many new useful features.

Here's the list of changes:

- Minor cosmetic updates.
- Can now add comments in any article view.
- Integrated Administration system with articles.
- Signature now in separate column.
- Integrated security levels into each administration section.
- "Last Update" reflects last article added.
- Drastically cleaned up code.
- Updates to INSTALL file.

Huge amounts of fixes this time around. Here's a short list of the major ones.

- Completed commenting system.
- Ability to add administrator accounts.
- Full blown administrator leveling system.
- Improved editing reliability.
- Session system instead of cookies.
- Change date to show date and time.
- Fixed section header teaser/body mixup.

With the debut of lockHeed 0.2, the development of the site engine has moved into the ALPHA phase. This means there will be many more features added, but not as many drastic code changes will be done.

lockHeed 0.2 is the first serious release of the site engine. If you've seen 0.1, you will notice that the differences between the two versions are plentiful.

There are many "features" added in this latest release. This means I added links to the features, but haven't added the code yet. If you're interested in helping out with this project, drop me a line. Otherwise, have fun!
