jack midi is broken in muse2 it seems. does anyone else use it? i haven't for over 12 months... i get lots of errors in qjackctl messages window. if you're around Tim i'm on #lmuse now... i can send you some errors if you like... g. |

ok, update - seems that me using netjack may be involved in some crazy way. using muse2 with jackmidi only on the local machine seems to work ok... i'll do some more work and report back.... g. But it works best if MusE is Jack transport timebase master, I never got around to checking our Jack dummy timebase sync code, so you may see "JackAudioDevice::dummySync Sync timeout - audio not ready!" and crap like that. There is a lingering netjack question for me: In our Jack driver code, in the function processSync(), I was not sure how to handle Jack's state JackTransportNetStarting. So I responded the exact same as we respond to JackTransportStarting (I set audioState = Audio::START_PLAY). Feel free to send me some more error lines. I'll see if I can help. Tschack and Jack2 have both given grief. I'll stick jack1 in and see how/if the mileage varies... g. |

Hi Geoff, Sorry, didn't get to reply yesterday.. Actually we have done a few failed attempts to do this but the codebase has changed significantly so it's not entirely straightforward to backport. I understand that jackmidi would be good to have and we will get there eventually but isn't it still possible to use jackd as a gateway between jack-midi and alsa-midi ?
