#3 security settings problem

hi, i recently changed my default security level (set on livejournal itself) to private. but sometimes when i'm composing an entry, i want to have it visible to friends, or to the public. when i set the security setting as 'friends' or 'public' from within the xjournal client, and then post, the entry is still posted as private. can someone please help me with this?
