Without really knowing anything about your learning remote, I can't say one way of the other about the "Hex Cmd:" or "EFC:" code/a that it reports. I have no idea what they mean. It's much more likely that they are nothing to do with lirc codes than anything else. I suggest considering them to be an "entirely different format" unless you have any hard information to the contrary. On the other hand though, you have essentially TWO "learning remote" setups (the actual learning one, and LIRC)... And this is in addition to the actual remote you are trying to simulate with LIRC... So this puts you in a good situation for comparing apples-with apples.... Ask yourself questions like: 1) does the learning remote work like the original after being programmed with the original remote? 2) does lirc get the same/similar config file/codes from the learning remote (programmed off the original) as the original remote? 3) does the learning remote learn the same info from lirc as it does from the original? In all these cases, only compare lirc codes with lirc codes, and 'learning remote' codes with themselves. The other "hint" that is given by the learning remote is "Panasonic_Old".. .maye you can find an existing lirc config for panasonic? Google is your friend. Buzz, Thanks for the tips. I'll be doing some additional testing per your input = this evening. From my previous testing, I've not had much luck getting = 'irrecord' to accept input from the remote that came with my digital cable = receiver -or- my RadioShack remote that has learned the keys. If I switch = my learning remote onto the mode that I programmed off my Hauppage grey = remote, 'irrecord' behaves as expected. I imagine it is possible, though, = that my IR receiver has very limited range in the kind of input it will = accept. I will do a little research on maybe finding a better IR receiver = for use with LIRC. To answer your question #1, yes, the learning remote works like the = original after being programmed with the original remote.
