#75 kernel 2.6.5: ieee1394: sbp2: aborting sbp2 command

Hi,

I updated my kernel from 2.4.20 to 2.6.5. I have a
problem with my firewire external hd.
sbp2 can log to the disk and I can mount it, but
reading files > 1Mb are stalled and restart
slowly.

    I have exactly the same problem.

    modprobe sbp2 serialize_io=1 (please note that kernel 2.6 has
    removed the sbp2_ prefix)

    seems to fix the problem. I'm not sure, but the perfomance
    impact seems negligable by . This might be a bug in the
    hardware or this may be a bug in the driver, I don't know.

    I couldn't find any useful information in dmesg, but lspci -v
    gives me this:
