#61 tray open , io error while writing to DVD+RW

I just bought a DVD+RW medium and formatted it with
mkudffs as described in some howto's.

Then when I try to write bigger directory tree's to
the mounted dvd (about >100MB) I get kernel messages:

hdd: tray open
end_request: I/O error, dev hdd, sector 759352

causing the system slowing down rapidly. Actually
the dvd remains readable. I haven't checked the
written data yet, but I somehow assume that there
went something quite wrong.
