Making YouTube demo videos for LCARS 24 is something I've wanted to do for a long time, but it won't be easy. I've got a partial plan that looks pretty cool, just a slideshow with explanations, no real animation. I've been getting experience with that by doing something far easier but using the methodology needed for the LCARS demos. I made videos for full recordings (with vocals) of three of the songs in the Alarm folder (which are in LCARS 24 only as MIDI versions to save space and installation effort). They only display the lyrics if accessed from Files 24, since that wouldn't be appropriate for the alarm function.

I made the music videos with Microsoft Movie Maker, which is just barely okay for the music videos (done as slideshows displaying chords, notes, and lyrics as the song plays), but selecting the timing and duration with that Windows program is done by pulling an an icon with the mouse cursor, and for the LCARS demos I'd really like to use numerical input of those parameters.

Anyway, a zip of each song that includes an MP3 and a PDF (lead sheet) is here for download. I imagine anyone who uses the MP3 setting for the alarm has his/her own favorites MP3s. But at least those three are there for anyone who wants them. And the DS9 and VOY theme music are in the add-on packs as MP3s.

But the YouTube channel is open, so far only containing videos of three of the songs until now only known to the few LCARS 24 users that even noticed them. But the demos, when I get them made, with be there and should boost awareness of LCARS 24. I also made a good start on an SDL version but make to promises as to when that will be ready. But I read a blog claiming that the regular version works fine in the DOS box of Windows 7. I haven't tried that. It might be true.

Here's the new YouTube channel, such as it is:

I did search on YouTube for LCARS and found this, consisting entirely of screenshots from LCARS 24, with no mention of where they came from:

There was another one a few years ago that was a program that did nothing but display images, and all the images came from LCAFRS 24.

Here's another one, basking in glory by using LCARS 24 screenshots.

    There are probably plenty more.

And comments for that one are disabled. I wonder why.

After years of procrastination, I finally got a video of LCARS 24 made and uploaded to YouTube:

The YouTube channel, containing two LCARS 24 things and several songs, has had 3,500 views, about 1,500 of which are for the main LCARS 24 demo.

The link for the LCARS demo is above. Here's the one for the channel:
