Could it be possible to add an option to build 64-bit binaries?

Current implementation of Builder.java does only allow to build i386 binaries.

We're looking for this in order to achieve this feature-request in our software: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/ticket/5302

    I have to investigate that, because it might require changes in the headers. I had a look at your ticket, but what does it mean that the executable doesn't play nice with the 64-bit version of java? This is tested and works, I don't understand what the problem is.

    I have no idea what the problem is/was in detail (ticket was created 4 years ago). I did some tests and did not see particular issues, but it would be good anyway for us to provide a full 64-bit solution (i.e a 64-bit installer, a 64-bit launcher using a 64-bit JRE).
