#53 Better handling of multibyte files in Emacs

When Emacs is loaded in multibyte mode (e.g., collaborating with Windows users?) LTC generates an error message when encoding the text to base64 before communicating with the server. We should catch these situations and offer to the user to convert to unibyte (this may remove information from the file though).
