LoadDatFile() detect the file version, if it's .dat from 1.6.5
of from 2.0.1, To allow the detection of the .dat
compatible with each version of engine
It actually reads and writes the version #, but never exposes it. A good idea
for a feature to add. Especally since you'd like to check before the load
goes awry.
