It isn't possible at the moment to directly delete a library pattern.
Two options are open:
Export the ones you want to keep, delete the original library and then reimport the exported one. I would have to do some tests as I haven't used it since I originally wrote it and I don't think these operations are documented.
I can take a look at the code and create a delete function, which may not take to long if you can wait.
