After a long development time, first betas for the server and GUI client have been released. These versions are currently used in pre-production environments, and have proven pretty stable since now (for a beta version, of course).
It is expected some sort of public demo or example project in a few months.
This project is now with a production target in a few months. As more resources are available for testing and developing, it will probably be in a beta stage before the end of 2007. It will still lack of many features, but it will be able to hold an enterprise solution (even in beta). Get updated on the SubVersion repository for day by day advances in the September to December period!
Affected project areas are: the main KinDB system (at least simple database and task management will be working soon if not already), and the KinGUI subproject.
Since today, project has been split in two parts: KinDB branch, and KinGUI subproject. Both are available from SVN as before, but at different branches (see Home Web page for instructions on both). This will allow to grow with no interference between main system and the user GUI (that now compile and install independently).
A new package will be released soon (alpha-0.5) with both projects conveniently separated.
CVS is no longer available, now project is migrated to SubVersion. Instructions to use it to get changes will be available in project's home page soon.
There's been a significant CVS update for the project (stalled some time due to changes in SF systems and in my own). Now syncing again!
Nowadays I have no time to develop this, and I'd rather will in a short future, so project is stalled again pending of reconsideration and spare time to invest in it...
To celebrate the first anniversary of the project as hosted at Sourceforge.net, there's a new file release with the latest CVS content. Lots of things have changed since the previous release, lots of things yet to do... but soon there will become some sort of a complete system (at least for the cluster) and thus changed to alpha version.
All the nodes are now functional, cluster is managed, and database queries are about to work. Web Client Interface also serves web pages and soon will also create dialog pages. Soon there will be a new file release, and in a few weeks project status will upgrade to alpha stage!
Currently, module IM is almost functional (it is able to get object definitions, then create object instances, init them, and request their info and data from BM). It will probably take a few days to debug all the code inside, as it was never traced nor checked before. Please refer to bugs tracker to see what trouble you may find if you test current sources.
After a few months of (forced) inactivity, we're trying to finish basic modules to get a runable core system, that can be tested and where to develop on. With some luck (and time to think, develop and write code), in some few weeks we may achieve a beta for the KinDB core. CVS has the latest works, and now differ pretty much from the file distribution, in code, and in installation structure. Please feel free to get from cvs (detailed instructions are on project's web page at http://kindb.sourceforge.net to help you), and submit any problems you may encounter to compile sources, documentation is right over there, but still may be a little short, we accept suggestions on that also ;-)
