I'm processing XML files written to the DITA standard. A common convention is to name the map files with a .ditamap file extension and the content/topics with .xml (or possibly .dita). I just processed a directory structure full of these files adfter adding the .,ditamap extension to be processed. My resulting output was all named with the .xml extension. This would be fine, except that there are references between these map files that point at the other extension.

Is there some setting I missed that would preserve the complete filename when processing?
