Hi all
I have been using Keepass now quite for a while and it does a very good job. Thereis however one feature which I do miss: The ability of Keepass to act as a keystore. Wherever I can I tend to use certificates instead of Passwords. The way I handle it currently is that I do I would like to use these certificates as credentials in Keepass just as a password (currently I do attach them as file attachments). I then do distribute them into the respective Keystores on the different paltforms. This leads to a sensless mess.
Far more elegant would be the capability if I could add them to keepass and keepass is then acting as a "external" keystore to apps and os.
I am aware of the problems (in terms of platforms and their different implementations of keystores) and the tremendous work but I think this ability would push Keepass to a "next level" in security.
Starting off with a windows keystore would be a good start to me. Mozilla FF/TB would be next on my whishlist. Other keystores to consider would be PGP and SSH/putty (pegeant).
BTW: I am willing to support this request with a donation, work or testing efforts whatever is wanted most.
Regards
Martin
This is the sort of application that is left to plug-ins. See KeeAgent for an example of this type of use.

If you use KP1, there is also http://keepass.info/plugins.html#puttyagent for SSH keys.
For GPG, there is KeePT: http://keepass.info/plugins.html#keept
However, it does not (yet) store the keys itself in KP but only the password. However, it supports WinPT and a wrapper for pinentry.exe which obtains the passwords directly from KeePass.
