I would like to work on an application that can read/write KDBX files using Xamarin.Mac but am concerned about the GPL license and rejection by Apple. Is there a documented format for KDBX files that I could use to build a parser in C# to build a Mac Application?
Thanks,
Thomas

Thanks Paul. Any input with respect to GPL and usage on the Mac Store? I would really like to keep a version in sync with the latest KeePass and have proper OSX support since the running under Mono method does not always work as expected.
Thanks,
Thomas

As far as I can see you can write an app that reads/writes KeePass databases under the Apple TOS as long as you don't use any GPL code. You may also be able to release a GPL program on the Apple store as long as nobody notices/complains. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3488833
