1) downloaded the zip file;
2) unzipped the file;
3) CD jstock;
4) chmod 755 jstock.sh;
5) launched JStock.
I had a 1.0.6 folder in my .jstock folder from the previous version, and
the above created a new folder named 1.0.7 in my .jstock folder. My old
portfolios and watchlists were in ~/.jstock/1.0.6/UnitedState/portfolios
and ~/.jstock/1.0.6/UnitedState/watchlist. I assumed I needed to move
those folders from 1.0.6 to 1.0.7. However, JStock does not see them.
I created a portfolio named test, added a buy transaction, and saved the
portfolio. I cannot find test.
What am I doing wrong?

Do you remember which version of 1.0.6 you are using?
Try to run every version gradually.
1.0.6d -> 1.0.6e -> .... -> 1.0.7a -> 1.0.7b
Although cumbersome, but it should work.
Remember to backup your copy.
