Bug: the Joe editor is hosted on sourceforge, which is no longer a trusted source of software. Reference: http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/06/sourceforge-locked-in-projects-of-fleeing-users-cashed-in-on-malvertising/

Yeah, what a PITA. Switching is easy enough, but JOE has been here so long that all links point to sourceforge. Are we worried about sourceforge enough to cause confusion by moving?

Given the SourceForge outage (Mercurial down for for a week!) we need an improved hosting strategy. I would like to have multiple hosts, but not sure how links to the project would handle that. I mean it would be best if people google for JOE, you get all mirrors somehow. Perhaps it will work if we provide links in all documentation.

Should we switch to git? Bitbucket supports Mercurial, but limits number of users to 5. Possibly this is enough.. on the other hand, there is no such limit on Github, and it is easy to convert:

I don't really like git (it's really designed to lose temporary branches in large projects, but I prefer it to save everything), but it has the mindshare. If we switch to it, we could use SourceForge, Github and Bitbucket.
