JmDNS is a java implementation of the IETF draft RFP multicast extensions for DNS. This project contains the needed elements for service discovery and service registration. It is compatible with Apple\'s Rendezvous service.

JmDNS is pretty good. There are still times that it doesn't show entries though.

I'm absolutely not amused about issue #1921226 being set to "Later". We are talking about adding a single line to build.xml. I've done it and everything builds fine. Setting the ticket to "Later" and disabling comments has probably taken longer than just adding this after such a long time!
