The new JPodcast 2.0 beta version, contains besides many fixes for small bugs, the following new functions:
* Web user interface for the podcast server management
* Web user interface for the single podcast channel administration and upload
* Proxy for podcast channels, with download speed control
Finally, after many months and at two prototype interfaces killed out before the publish, we just put
on the SVN the new release with a complete user interface for management of the channels, and items upload.
We also released the first version for JPproxy a podcast proxy that works together JPodcast and it's embedded with it.
Now we just have to do a bit more testing before releasing the windows auto-install and wars.
We also have to update the documentation wiki.
During the development of the JPodcast administrative interface, we realized that we did not wanted to duplicate lines of software, and that with the modern AJAX approach it was possible to reuse the same code that was already generating the xml code for the rss feed.
Since what we developed was of more general use than a administrative interface for the JPodcast server, we released part of this code in a independent way as JPview.
More info on it at http://jpodcast.comvalid.com/JPview

We discovered some problems with the asian characters but now it's all resolved, we have been able to fully exploit the unicode Java char support.
JPodcast can now read any characters (for example: chinese, thailandese, japanese, etc...) present in .mp3 file Id3 tags (more info on that at http://wiki.jpodcast.comvalid.com/index.php/Languages_and_Character_Sets .
Full logging is now supported using log4j.
An ANT script in now present on the SVN for the linux distribution, that helps you if you want to regenerate your bytecode on your machine with a different version of java.
This ANT regenerates your .class files and creates a .war file.
In the Docs section it is inserted a link of JPodcast's Wiki
