General Update

I have redesigned many aspects of the language, and I will be continuing work on it soon.

To anyone actually reading these news releases, the documentation on the website is rather far behind the actual state of the language, and you will find that the sourcecode in CVS only compiles up to the parsing stage. I am presently working on redoing the later stages to be better-written (not a first draft) and to support the new features of the language.

Semantic phase done

I finished work on the semantic phase. This represents a big accomplishment, as now most of the semantic behavior of the language is laid out in stone.

ML RISC source obtained

I have obtained a copy of the ML RISC source (not the easiest thing to do, actually). When more interest is drawn to the project, this might be one of the backends to support.

Project Creation

I have recieved notification that the Ivory Language has been approved as an official sourceforge project. I will be spinning up the project in the next week, and posting what source code is ready for release.

At this time, the compiler frontend is nearing completion, and it is time to start looking at selecting an installing a compiler backend. I would like to examine the options first, however.... read more
