#1 essay window is tiny

Greetings,

When I set up an essay question for a quiz, the
visible editing area is about 19 characters across
and only four lines vertically. I recognize that the
data field is much, much larger, but the viewable
editing area doesn't appear to be able to increase in
size. Is there something I can do?
