Vorbis playback is probably the most important thing
the original iPod lacks, to the open-source world at
least. The FAQ says Tremor now runs at 80% real time,
but it's always been there.
Please work on getting real-time playback. I'd guess
Xiph.org can help.

I've been thinking about this, and I have to wonder if the uCLinux porters
just didn't set the power management bits correctly. The cores in the iPod
are software-clockable up to 133 MHz. Tremor (the integer Ogg decoder)
requires only about a 90 Mhz ARM core. It should be more than fast
enough.
That having been said, has anyone implemented a segment loader for the
second ARM core yet? That's probably the Right Way (tm) to handle
decoding....

i will second that. Vorbis would be a huge plus.
