It would be very useful to provide pre-compiled (and
preferably static) binaries...

I'm thinking about THAT important presentation where
you CANNOT afford to have ANY problem at all... An
emergency viewer I can download from any PC, anytime,
without the need to have gtk2-dev installed, could really
be a life-saver ;)
