I would also really like to see this functionality - instead of live capture from an interface, one could specify as input the packets stored in a PCAP file (eg. from Wireshark, Tcpdump, etc).
Usage example: `$ imsniff -f dump.pcap`
where *-f* is an option to specify input file.
