A Debian user reported the following:
=====================================
/usr/bin/ps2image (used to produce bitmap files from
"image" or "gif"
environments when hyperlatex is called with the
"-image" option) uses
"pnmtogif" to generate GIFs (for "gif" environments, or
when
"\imagetype{gif}" is declared). However, a "pnmtogif"
command is not
provided by the "netpbm" package, on which hyperlatex
depends (nor by
any other sarge package, as far as I can see). This
causes an
/usr/bin/ps2image: line 52: pnmtogif: command not found
error messages for every GIF to be generated during
execution of the
generated ".makeimage" script, and all produced ".gif"
files are empty.
Possible solution: using /usr/bin/ppmtogif (provided by
netpbm) instead
of pnmtogif seems to work...
=====================================
For Debian, I will exchange pnmtogif with ppmtogif in
ps2image. Feel free to do also. :)
