I am using ht://Dig for index searches in a local collection of MS Word documents. It works very
well, but some of our users would like to have the result page show ALL of the hits for a particular
search word. As I have it configured, only the first hit in the document is shown in the 'long'
result page. Perhaps there already exists a way to set this up. I have tried matches_per_page and
max_excerpts without success.

    If you're using 3.1.6, I suggest you take a look at the max_excerpts feature:

    http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#max_excerpts

    But I'll admit it's still going to be "some" hits in a particular document--you can set it to be very high, but it can't guarantee it will be all hits. OTOH, I'm pretty sure this is what you want.

    To all intents and purposes, this works.
    <http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#max_excerpts>

    (Displaying the entire document is beyond the scope of
    ht://Dig.)
