The HSQL built-in function UNIX_MILLIS ( timestamp to UNIX milliseconds as BIGINT ) was added to HSQL 09 December 2012 - svn 5127 per the change log, but, the function is not included in the documentation, builtinfunctions-chapt.html ( nor the PDF version ).
Just thought I would mention this before the next HSQL release.
