#255 nthe in konsole/xterm cols > 219 gives signal 6 at exit

nthe/xthe at THE-3.2RC2; Regina at REXX-Regina_3.7(MT) 5.00 14 Oct 2012.

I expanded a konsole (KDE xterm lookalike sort of) to full screen. Cols shown below from stty.

stty -a | grep col
speed 38400 baud; rows 71; columns 270; line = 0;

When I quit or file nthe/xthe presents signal 6. This problem appears when cols are > 219.
