My W7 pc userid has a blank between my first name and last name. THEG can't
cope with that when I try to open a file from C:\Users\firstname lastname\Downloads

It gives:

New file: C:\Users\firstname
Error 0010: Path not found: lastname\Downloads\file.ext
** Command completed **

and the next key interrupt closes THE.

Works fine from within THE using the Downloads DIR

Les you need to quote all filenames that have spaces in them. This rule applies to all platforms, as THE has no way of knowing whether you are specifying a filename with spaces in it of multiple filenames by separating them with spaces.

But I wasn't entering the filename, I was using 'Open with' from
Explorer, so I have no opportunity to add quotes.
