Just wanted to know if there is way to a LIS3LV02DQ accelerometer attached on with a robostix and gumstix. I currently have the robostix and gumstix working well on a tracked vehicle along with gpsd(2.34) code. Currently the project can turn in place to a desired heading , almost have it driving to a lat/long point . I am trying to add the accelerometer for more data feed back. I have read the LIS3LV02DQ is buggy on the i2c bus so I want to hook it up over spi. Is this possible ? I have read the gumstix is the spi master and the robostix is the slave , Can I add another spi slave? I seen the code for the driver for the LIS3LV02DQ on the wiki, but how do I hook it up ? I also have compass that will be hook up through the i2c bus , which I will try to use the i2c-io code which I don't think will be that bad to modify . (current compass is using the internal gps device compass whith about .5Hz refresh rate which sucks) Thanks, Ben |

Hi Ben, I recently integrated the LIS3LV02DQ sensor with the gumstix over I2C, I didnot know that some gumstix drivers already exist for this sensor, else would have used them :(. Any hoo, things have been working fine for me. What I2C bug are you referring to about this sensor? I checked the wiki page: http://docwiki.gumstix.org/Sample_code/C/SPI/kernel & might not have encountered the bug mentioned about on that page since I am not using interrupts (yet) from the sensor. For I2C this was pretty easy, I connected the Vdd,Gnd,SCL & SDA pins b/w the breakout-gs & the sensor & was able to use Dave Hyland's i2c program for reading/writing the registers on the sensor. I now have some C code based on Dave's i2c-api code that initializes the sensor and reads the acceleration data.
