Hello again, So I am going to buy some Load Cells for an application, and I have yet another question... The load cell puts out between 0 - 30 milli-volts depending upon how hard you are pulling it apart. I am looking for a device / schematic that will allow me to interface this information with either a PC or a microcontroller. I appreciate everyone's help! Thanks, mike |

Hello ! What about the joystick input on your PC ..? I remember it has analogic inputs, but I don't know anything else about it .. Mike, It would seem you might want to scale this up a bit, depending on your A/D converter. For example, the input to most microcontrollers is 0-5V, assuming a 5V Vdd. So, you need to have a gain of 100 or so to get up to 3V. I would highly recommend you read Chapter 4 of Op Amps For Everyone at www.ti.com. This document (http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/slod006b/slod006b.pdf) and particularly Chapter 4 will help you scale and offset (if necessary) using a single Op Amp and, perhaps, 4 resistors.
