Hello, I accidently used a higher voltage (iRobot Create Vpwr) in STUART +5 pin (Where the TTL +5V was supposed to be). The result was that the 3 robostix leds (red, blue and orange) lit up, and since then it's like that and nothing reacts (serial console, boot, SSH). I tried the following actions: 1. I tried to connect using the serial - Does not response. 2. I connected Gumstix and Wifistix together (without the Robostix) in order to login using SSH, but the Gumstix doesn't allocate any IP from my router, so I can't connect or even know if it's booting. My questions: 1. What is the meaning of the different leds? What does the combination of all 3 of them tell the user? Is there a documentation somewhere? 2. Is there a reset action that could be taken (Maybe some pulse to some pin...?)? 3. How can I check my Gumstix for signs of life without the Robostix? 4. Had anyone ever handled such an event? Can anyone help? I hate to think I destroyed my whole projet in one act of stupidism.... The LEDs are just LEDs connected up to GPIO lines on the ATMega128. They only have meaning in the context of a program running on the ATMega128. The fact that they all came on means that they were getting powered through your Vpower connection instead of through the voltage regulators on the robostix. > 2. This page shows where they are located: <http://docswiki.gumstix.com/Robostix_troubleshooting> Sometimes they move around a bit with different revisions of the board. With the robostix all by itself, you should be able to apply power (through the correct connector), and then check each of the voltage regulators with a multimeter. If the V_BATT regulator is dead (which sounds like the likely culprit), then that would explain why you can't see anything on the serial port. V_BATT is used to power one side of the voltage converter chips, and to feed power to the gumstix. Depending on what voltage Vpwr was, you may have fried stuff on the gumstix too, since V_BATT is the input voltage to the voltage regulators on the gumstix board. Hey Dave, All the leds are still on every time I attach power supply. I checked the voltage regulators, and it seems that I get the correct voltage on each of the checkpoints besides VCC5, which doesn't match my revision (1131), but I checked some points around it and it seems somehow ok(~3.1V)... . V_BATT looks ok too (5V). 1. Does Connex200xm (my model) has this kind of voltage checkpoints scheme as well? 2. Is there any trigger or external pulse that can bring everything back to factory defaults? 3. How about JTAG? Can it work here? 4. In case I really fried it - what can be done? Do I need to send it to somewhere or just buy a new one? Which component (Robostix, Connex)? 5. Regarding your question, I have Wifistix EU card attached as well, but I don't think it's damaged, besides the fact that I can't connect through SSH (I blame that on the Gumstix). Thanks, Lior. Well, it's only an output when things are powered properly. You basically sent 15v to the gumstix and the robostix. It would have leaked through the unpowered circuits and could have done all kinds of damage. The ATMega128 is only rated for Vcc is 5.5V. At 15v I suspect alot of the protection diodes will have been blown. The gumstix may have been protected by its regulators, but the fact that the LEDs come on on the robostix and they didn't before, means something is damaged on the robostix board. I think you definitely need to replace your robostix board. You may or may not need to replace your connex and/or wifi board (it would have received the 15v as well). You'd need some know good working parts to swap out with the suspect ones and see if things still work.
