The front page of www.gtkpod.org claims repeatedly that iOS devices can be written to if "a binary-only blob is used". This is apparently referring to libhashab, but after finding that libhashab doesn't actually work and eventually tracing it back to the original author, I found that current versions of iOS are not supporte at all. See here:

http://www.bourdonnec.com/

"Ios 5 et suivants
Apple dans son constant désir d'emprisonner ses utilisateurs et de les forcer à utiliser les produits de merde qu'ils développent (iTunes) a depuis longtemps ajouté un autre HASH dans son Ios. Il n'y a pas moyen de copier de la musique à ce jour (2013) sur un itruc à jour."

If I'm reading that correctly, he states explicitly that there is no support for iOS 5 and newer. Since iOS is now several major versions beyond that, the statement on gtkpod.org is very misleading and really ought to be removed.

While I agree with you that the statement on the website does say the following:

    Newer iOS devices

CANNOT be written to unless a binary-only blob is used

    It does also say underneath:

    iOS5

Not supported at all due to hashing issues and a whole lot >of new code to write to be able to do the sync.

I have tweaked it slightly to make it explicit.
