I'm changing the label of the request to explicitly include "wavelet". As for the resolution of the request I guess we would need someone with more active experience in that area.

Update more than two years later again: @jacklucchetti wanted to talk to somebody working with Wavelets in Ancona (?) whether they could realistically contribute something; or else the plan is to close this old feature request as "won't happen, sorry".

Some basic wavelet stuff is a valid request I think. For more advanced stuff I guess it would better belong in a function package.

Almost four years later: Perhaps it could make sense to port the following codes (in Matlab): https://grinsted.github.io/wavelet-coherence/ and https://www.cityu.edu.hk/gcacic/wavelet/

As sad as it is to close a ten-year old ticket as unresolved, there does not seem to be a practical solution to this missing feature...
